Worlds Fair 2030

User Experience Design
Project Overview
The objective of this project is to develop a concept proposal for a 21st-century world's fair, scheduled for the year 2030, that showcases technological innovations, fair organization, event programming, equity of access for global attendees, and addressing anticipated problems. The proposal should be created by employing entrepreneurial and design thinking. The deliverables include a concept proposal, research analysis of innovations, identity system, user personas, reflection essay, and journey UX map.
Theme
The theme for the 2030 world's fair is:

"Impacting humanity through virtual innovations"

The fair will be facilitated by deep dive virtual reality technology that produces a virtual reality indistinguishable from our own. The main focus of the fair will be the advancement of transportation technology to showcase possible technologies that can connect people more closely in the real world.
The project involved ideation, copywriting, user experience, and research, with design being less of a focus. The team employed design thinking exercises to develop a futures wheel and journey map. Various topics were explored, including hosting and accessibility, innovations, organization, archetypes, anticipated problems, and visual narrative.

The inspiration for the fair came from films like "The Matrix" and recent scientific developments, with the visual direction inspired by future depictions by Robert McCall. The fair is a celebration of anthropology, technological innovations, environments, and the personified zeitgeist of our time. The host nation will be responsible for housing the hardware, and global satellite locations will act as access portals to the fair, similar to internet cafes.

When users first enter the virtual world, they will arrive at the central city where the fair is held, paying homage to Plato's cave. Users of all walks of life will acclimate through a dark hallway into the vibrancy of virtual reality.
